Unwrapping the Christmas gifts. In a bit it will be Christmas and I love that moment of the year when you are waiting for something happening, when you are doing something for someone else, thinking about what you can do to make them happy.
The last year for Christmas I received a flight for Barcelona. We've waited till September to unwrap this present and go for the second time in my life to this beautiful city, with my wonderful boyfriend.
It has been so good the memory of the city for both of us when we have visited the city for the first time, that we wanted to visit it together for long time and even to go to live there, but then the real choice was London. The holidays are a good moment to escape the british weather and so here we go to Barcelona. We have used Ulmon for our journey, the map that you can use offline saving the places of your interest and made them become a star on your map.
We went to the Sagrada Familia, and was for me the realisation of a dream.
The city is very expensive, but is to put on the budget that to live something unique you have to spend something, like the ticket for the Sagrada Familia (15 euros that are used also as a fund for the construction of the Basilica), Casa Batlò (22 euros with audioguide included), Parc Guell (8 euros, before was free but it worth the money you are spending. You can purchase the tickets online and jump the queue. There are a lot of tourists so during the week and in the morning you have the best time to visit the city and take some pictures without too many people around.
Gaudì is innovative, modern and colours, sinuous shapes, nature and spirituality. His art is functional and stenographic, stunning. For someone Gaudi is exceeding, to me is just amazing and example of how to do something in a super way.
Little venues and streets, history.
Things to do and see.
The first thing I've noticed was how Barcelona was so expensive, not like other places in Spain, and some people were rude, but that could happen everywhere. It's difficult of being understood if you are speaking in English although is a touristic place. Anyway you can live a wonderful holiday there despite of some little things, which are not that important if you are a tourist. We were staying at a beautiful flat we found on Air b&b, a website that I sincerely advice. Just don't forget to check if you are at a commutable distance and to consider that maybe you will not have a internet connection, like unfortunately happened to us. Some mice along the street made me understand there's not a good care of the city as it would be nice to, and a lot of shops closed made me sadly sight because I realise it's not economically going as it should be.
As a tourist I am really excited and so let's go with the itineraries, there's a lot to do.
